Committees, Caucuses, Levy

The UTGSU has a number of Committees and Caucuses that members can get involved in! There are also Levy Groups that are funded through a separate levy fee that provide services to Graduate Students.

The UTGSU has a number of Standing and Ad-Hoc Committees that work on issues that Graduate students face. We encourage all Graduate students to join one or a variety of standing committees to get involved in life on campus! Contact the chair of a committee for more information and to get involved. Minutes from our committees’ meetings and committee expenditures can be view by members at the UTGSU office. Most of our standing committees are open to all members, with the exception of Finance Committee which is composed of elected representatives.

Caucuses are identity based groups that advocate for and demand representation of their members within the UTGSU, its activities, and in the broader University community by making recommendations to General Council and by undertaking initiatives of importance to the Caucus Members. They often host events and their activities are driven by members of the caucus. Caucuses are open to all members that identify as a constituent of said caucus.

The UTGSU has several levy groups which are funded through the UTGSU via levy fees established through referenda.
