The UTGSU annually offers funding for conferences, workshops, or other academic events organized by graduate students at the University of Toronto. The purpose of this Grant is to foster collective or cooperative work amongst graduate students within or across disciplines.
Note that this grant does not fund individuals or groups who wish to attend or present work at academic conferences here or abroad.
The application form for the 2018-2019 Conference and Academic Engagement Grant can be downloaded below. The maximum grant for any one event is $600.00.
Deadline: There are two rounds of funding available. For events that take place during January to April, please apply to the 1st cycle. For events that take place during May to December, please apply to the 2nd cycle.
1st cycle: Deadline is Monday, November 26, 2018 at noon. Cheques will be made available to successful applicants starting on January 23, 2019.
2nd cycle: Deadline is Monday March 4, 2019 at noon. Cheques will be made available to successful applicants starting on March 27, 2019.
Did your group get a Conference Grant in 2018-2019? Fill out and return an evaluation form (see below) to the UTGSU Offices or email the form to firstname.lastname@example.org immediately after your event has taken place. This completed form must be on file at the UTGSU Offices in order for your group or course union to be eligible to receive another Conference and Academic Engagement Grant in 2019-2020.
