The Change of Coverage period for the Fall Semester is now closed.
Winter Semester: (enrolments and opt outs for January new students only) January 1-31, 2021        **No exceptions will be made if the opt-out date is missed**

How to Opt-Out

To opt-out, you must show proof of equivalent insurance (not OHIP/UHIP). You must opt-out annually, at the beginning of the term you are first registered in. You cannot rejoin the plan after you have opted-out, so check the expiry date on your insurance.  Opt-outs are done online only.  Visit www.studentcare.ca to opt-out online.

How to Opt-In

To opt-in your dependents, you must opt them in annually, at the beginning of the term you are first registered in.  This is an annual plan.  You cannot opt-in your dependents for one semester only. Opt-in are done online only.  Visit www.studentcare.ca to opt-in online.

Opt-Out Reimbursements

Fall Semester Opt-Out Reimbursements:

The Fall Semester opt-out refunds will be issued during the third week of November after the add/drop period is over. Cheques/Direct Deposits/E-Transfers will be mailed out during the third week of November. You should have received an email with an application number after you opted-out. That is your confirmation that your opt-out was successful. If you do not receive your refund by the middle of December, please send an email, including the confirmation email you received when you opted out (which has the application number), and your student number to: health@utgsu.ca and we will forward it to the broker for investigation.
