The UTGSU provides financial support and funding for members.

The UTGSU Student Conference Bursary (SCB) was created to financially assist UTGSU Members attending and/or presenting at academic conferences. Forty $400.00 grants are issued across three bursary cycles: Fall, Winter and Summer.

The Graduate Community Development Fund (GCDF) was created in partnership with the University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies (SGS) in March 2017 to provide merit-based equity awards recognizing exceptional students on campus for their contributions to the graduate student experience.

The UTGSU Emergency Grant Fund provides up to $1,000 in financial support for graduate students facing unexpected emergencies beyond their control. Whether you’re dealing with a medical crisis, family emergency, natural disaster, sudden loss of income, or gender-based violence situation, this fund offers rapid assistance when you need it most.

The BGSB is a needs-based grant available to Black graduate students in the Winter Term. The grant is a partnership with the School of Graduate Studies to provide additional financial support to help offset the costs associated with academic endeavors for domestic and international Black graduate students.

The IGSB is a needs-based grant available to Indigenous graduate students in the Winter Term. The grant is a partnership with the School of Graduate Studies to provide additional financial support to help offset the costs associated with academic endeavors for Indigenous graduate students from Turtle Island / North America (First Nations, Inuit and Métis).
